Waiting on Wednesday #4 (12/15/10)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking the Spine by Jill, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: Across The Universe
Author: Beth Revis
Number of Pages: 400
Release Date: January 11, 2011

Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.

Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was no mere computer malfunction. Someone--one of the few thousand
inhabitants of the spaceship--tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn't do something soon, her parents will be next.

Now Amy must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder suspects, there's only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.

Title: City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, Cycle 2)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Number of Pages: 432
Release: April 5, 2011

Love, blood, betrayal and revenge — the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels. Simon Lewis is having some trouble adjusting to his new life as a vampire, especially now that he hardly sees his best friend Clary, who is caught up in training to be a Shadowhunter—and spending time with her new boyfriend Jace. Not to mention that Simon doesn’t quite know how to handle the pressure of not-quite-dating two girls at once. What’s a daylight-loving vampire to do? Simon decides he needs a break and heads out of the city—only to discover that sinister events are following him. Realizing that the war they thought they’d won might not yet be over, Simon has to call on his Shadowhunter friends to save the day — if they can put their own splintering relationships on hold long enough to rise to the challenge.

The cover for CoFA was just released yesterday; beautiful, isn't it? Needless to say, I can't WAIT to read CoFA!!

What are you guys waiting for?

  1. OMG I was going to do Across the Universe too haha! I may do it next week :) I don't really like Cassie Clare though, so I'm not planning on starting any of her new series.

    Here's my WoW

  2. I'm waiting for both of these. Both books were ones that I didn't love at first, but the more I've seen them around, the more interested in reading them I've become.
